Annika Ström
After 12 years in Berlin, Swedish artist Annika Ström now lives in Hove, UK. Her new monograph annika ström live!, edited by Christophe Boutin and published by Fälth & Hässler and onestar press, is out now. She has recently had solo shows at c/o Atle Gerhardsen, Berlin, and Uddevalla Konsthall, Sweden and her exhibition at Lautom Contemporary, Oslo, runs until 7 December. Her work is also included in the group shows ‘Intimacy’ at ACCA, Melbourne, until 30 November, and ‘Sonic Voices, Rocking Hard’, at the Netherlands Media Art Institute, Amsterdam, until 2 November. She is currently working on her first feature-length script.

Ayse Erkmen
Ayse Erkmen is an artist who lives and works in Istanbul and Berlin. Her solo exhibition at the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin runs until 11 January 2009, and her exhibition at K21 in Dusseldorf opens on 8 November 2008. She is also currently participating in the 7th Shanghai Biennale and the 2008 SCAPE Christchurch Biennial of Art, New Zealand.

Pipilotti Rist
Pipilotti Rist lives and works in Switzerland. Her solo shows ‘Pipilotti Rist: YuYu’ at Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA), Kagawa, Japan runs until 13 October. Museum of Modern Art, New York, has commissioned her to create an installation that immerses the Museum’s Marron Atrium in ten-metre-high moving images, which will run from 19 November to 2 February 2009. Her solo show at FACT, Liverpool closed 31 August.

Manon de Boer
Manon de Boer is an artist based in Brussels. For the occasion of her recent solo exhibition ‘The Time that is Left’ at the Frankfurter Kunstverein and a solo exhibition at Witte de With, Rotterdam, a catalogue on her work, titled The Time that is Left, will be published in June 2008. Her work is currently on display as part of the Berlin Biennial 2008.

Isaac Julien
Isaac Julien is a filmmaker and artist. He curated the current exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, ‘Derek Jarman: Brutal Beauty’ (23 February – 13 April 2008), which features his new film Derek. His film installation Fantôme Afrique (2005) is also on show at the University Art Museum, University of California, Santa Barbara until 11 May 2008.

Matthew Brannon
Matthew Brannon is an artist based in New York. His work is included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial (6 March – 1 June), and a comprehensive monograph of his work, To say the very least, will be published in May 2008 by the Art Gallery of York University, Toronto, with a text by Philip Monk.
