Marie Cloquet

Jason Haam: Marie Cloquet

‘You want it darker – We kill the flame’ is an exhibition by Belgian-artist Marie Cloquet featuring 18 large panel works, made specifically for the exhibition and marking the publication of Cloquet’s new monograph. Cloquet creates hybrid landscapes by altering real landscapes which she systematically photographs over periods of time. In this body of work, Cloquet reconstructs images of volcanoes using collage and watercolor. The visual motif of the volcano refers to the inevitability of natural destruction and the futility of mankind’s desire for control.

Tiwani Contemporary: Michaela Yearwood-Dan

‘The Sweetest Taboo’ is a solo exhibition by Michaela Yearwood-Dan that continues the artist’s recent investigation into the priorities for affirming spaces of self and collective actualisation, specifically queer space(s), community needs and desires, that include her own. The exhibition will encompass a semi-immersive experience that migrates from the canvases into the gallery space, creating a topographic installation of ceramic sculptures and furniture that encourages visitors to contemplate, project and spur plans to dream potential spaces into existence.
