Alison Goldfrapp on Leonora Carrington

The musician and artist Alison Goldfrapp discusses the life and work of the trailblazing British / Mexican surrealist painter and author, Leonora Carrington, who was born in 1917 in the UK and emigrated to Mexico in the 1940s.

Bow Down – the podcast about significant female artists who deserve our attention – returns for season two. Presented by Jennifer Higgie.

Erratum: Jennifer mistakenly mentions that Goldfrapp has won a Grammy Award. In fact, Goldfrapp has been nominated for a Grammy Award four times and won an Ivor Novello Award. Apologies.

Jennifer Higgie is a writer who lives in London. Her book The Mirror and the Palette – Rebellion, Revolution and Resilience: 500 Years of Women’s Self-Portraits is published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, and she is currently working on another – about women, art and the spirit world.
