Applications are now open for the Breeze Curator Travel Grant 2025, an initiative from Frieze in partnership with the Instituto Guimarães Rosa and the Embassy of Brazil in London. The grant will offer five Brazil-based curators the opportunity to participate in an immersive, funded curatorial visit to London during Frieze London & Frieze Masters (15 – 19 October 2025).
The grant is a special edition of the embassy’s annual Breeze programme, dedicated to the global promotion of Brazilian contemporary art, and is part of the UK/Brazil Season of Culture 2025–26.
A landmark initiative celebrating 200 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and the United Kingdom, and presented in collaboration with the British Council, the Season of Culture runs from August 2025 to June 2026, exploring themes such as the climate emergency, joy, diversity and representation, through a programme of events, exhibitions, performances and public engagements in both countries.
The selected curators will receive:
- A grant covering the cost of travel from Brazil to London, up to £1,000
- Accommodation in London Tuesday 14 – Saturday 18 October
- VIP access to Frieze London and Frieze Masters fairs
- A week-long itinerary of panel discussions, and museum and gallery visits
- Opportunities to connect with leading figures in the global art world
The selection panel is Eva Langret (director, Frieze EMEA), Leonie Mir (head of VIP, Frieze EMEA), Ana Paula Moreno (head of Brazil-UK Cultural Season – Instituto Guimarães Rosa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Márcio Junji Sono (programme curator & project manager, Cultural Section at Embassy of Brazil in London).
