The Smithsonian is set to collaborate with London's V&A Museum and Ai Weiwei signs to a talent agency

  • Clément Chéroux has been appointed senior curator of photography at SFMOMA. Chéroux, who currently holds the same position at Centre Pompidou, Paris, will assume the role in early 2017. (French) 
     
  • David Zwirner Gallery has announced that it will open an outpost in Hong Kong in 2017. The new space, which will be Zwirner’s fourth location, will occupy 10,000-square-feet of a ‘gallery and lifestyle tower’ that is currently being constructed in the city's Central district.
     
  • Ai Weiwei has been signed by the global talent and literary agency United Talent Agency (UTA). UTA is currently assisting Ai with The Human Flow, a feature documentary about the global refugee crisis that will be released in 2017.
     
  • In September, Hauser & Wirth will take over the former space of the Dia Art Foundation at 548 West 22nd Street in West Chelsea. The gallery will only be in residence until 2018, when building work will be completed on their new space, which is located nearby at 542 West 22nd Street.
     
  • The Smithsonian announced yesterday that it plans to collaborate with the Victoria and Albert Museum to establish a permanent gallery in the London institution’s new building ‘V&A East’, which is being constructed in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London.
