Track 1: Be Glad you Create Anything -- K15

Julianknxx's film plays with form and shape through film, photography, and sound. I can hear K15 as the soundtrack to this film and the title Be Glad you Create Anything speaks on the idea of what Black people have been through to still want to create art together and for others to consume.

Track 2: Two Worlds Apart -- Little Simz

Little Simz seems to embody Larry's painting as the new superhero of the London hip hop scene with quick and witty lyrics that play towards her strengths and take out any foe who tries to battle her.

Track 3: Summer in a Small Town -- The Cleaners from Venus

Anne's series follows a female protagonist with an unclear agenda. Much like the leader of Cleaners, Martin Newell was a poet and writer from a small town of Wivenhoe Essex, putting pop songs together in the stark lonely landscape through the 80's.

Track 4: Never Give Your Heart Away -- Carlton and the Shoes

A wall of sound or the ocean waves gently pushing and pulling the water as if the sun and ocean where dancing. Never give your heart away barely reaches a crescendo - but keeps you listening in for all the answers. Much like these painted polaroids, the sun can't quite make it out of frame.

Track 5: Masterpiece -- Sault

Hamed paints and formulates installation work through his dreams. Sault, a band much more focused on their musical output than what they look like, create a lore about who they are or how they create these almost silky dreamlike songs to be played again and again. When listening to "Masterpiece", I see a girl in blues, faded greys and white, filling a void that continues to expand into darkness, much like the ever changing title of Hamed's piece.
