“Hugh Steers paints how I often dream: dropped into an ongoing scenario with vaguely familiar places, or figures, and without a beginning or end. The surreal elements are so subtle that I wake up wondering if any of it was real.”

“Sahar Khoury’s work has an incredible balance of playfulness, intentionality and experimentation. I find absolute perfection in her imperfect works.”

“This is my favorite painting at the fair. I get emotional looking at Heading North, 7:45pm from Claudia Keep. It’s private and personal. I know this exact POV and that long, long drive where I’m lost in thought… or bored, anxious or exhausted. But I’m on my way.”

“My eye keeps going back to Yu-Xin Su’s Overseas Calls (San Francisco to Shanghai). It may be because I go east once a year to Korea. Mine would be (Los Angeles to Seoul).”
