About the Work

Partly inspired by The Wizard of Oz, and made while Anocha Suwichakornpong was still in film school, Graceland was the first Thai short film to be officially selected by Cannes Film Festival. One night in Bangkok, an Elvis impersonator called Jon meets a mysterious woman. Together, they embark on a dreamlike journey to the foreign land of the human heart.

The 13th Seoul Mediacity Biennale (SMB13) × Frieze Film Seoul 2025

The 13th Seoul Mediacity Biennale presents a special screening program curated by artistic directors Anton Vidokle, Hallie Ayres and Lukas Brasiskis for Frieze Film Seoul 2025. The screenings will take place on the rooftop of Seoul Museum of Art and feature a selection of artists’ films that converge spiritual, mystical, and magical forces on the screen in ways that change our understanding of everyday life. Composed in four chapters - Harmony, Reclaiming, Communion, and Waking Dreams - the screening programme will be accompanied by introductions by the artistic directors and a reception on the programme’s opening day.
