Daily Kite Flying Activations - Candice Lin

Wednesday - Sunday, October 11 - 15
1PM

In partnership with Getty PST ART, Frieze London is presenting the work of Los Angeles based interdisciplinary artist Candice Lin. Lin is showing a new work titled Feline Messages to the Human World (2023) composed of large-scale indigo-dyed kites drawn from Asian kite making traditions.

The kites were fabricated by kitemaker and sculptural artist Y. Stevie Choi who specializes in the research and making of Korean fighter kites @gomekites.

The kites will be flown daily during Frieze London (11 to 15 October) at 13:00 in The Regent’s Park by artist and kite maker Yaeun Stevie Choi.

The general public is invited to come see the daily kites activations.

Daily activations are weather dependent and might be delayed or cancelled subject to weather conditions on the day. This page will be updated accordingly with latest new about flight location and timing.

This project is supported by PST ART: Art & Science Collide, an initiative of Getty, in partnership with Frieze.  Lin’s work will be featured in the PST ART exhibition 'Scientia Sexualis' at ICA, Los Angeles in 2024.

N.B. 12 and 13 of October's kite flying has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

Please join us on Saturday 14 October for kite flying after the workshop.
