Digital Event - Pilar Corrias: A Dialogue with Sedrick Chisom

Pilar Corrias will present a virtual artist talk with Sedrick Chisom and curator Vincent Honoré, to highlight his new work presented in the gallery's Frieze London OVR. Corrias will moderate the dialogue between Chisom and Honoré, which will aim to explore the depth of his practice and how it relates to contemporary global issues. Chisom’s work is conceptually-based on a paradigm shift for the future. The artist’s compositions reference the radicalised idioms of Victorian fantasy illustration, and use the romantic landscape as a site where the apocalyptic narratives of white supremacy, Christianity, and climate change intersect—a scenario in which most of the built environment has been obliterated and transformed into a toxic, hallucinatory wasteland.
