Watch: Frieze x MoMA Sessions

Adam Pendleton and Lynne Tillman in Conversation

For our Autumn Sessions, Frieze has collaborated with The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA), to present an in-person, live conversation between artist Adam Pendleton and writer Lynne Tillman, moderated by frieze associate editor, Terence Trouillot.

On the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition, ‘Who Is Queen?’, currently on view at MoMA through 30 January 2022, both speakers will discuss Pendleton’s latest body of work and how poetry and writing have influenced his practice throughout his career.

Adam Pendleton lives and works in New York. Working in a range of mediums including painting, collage, installation, and video, Pendleton uses language as a primary material, recontextualizing text and image to refigure contemporary and historical narratives.

Lynne Tillman is a novelist, short-story writer and cultural critic. Her recent books include, the novel Men and Apparitions (2018) and a collection of short stories, The Complete Madame Realism and Other Stories (2016). Her book-length autobiographical essay, Mothercare, will be published by Soft Skull Press in 2022.
