Frieze Connect members are invited to view the National Gallery’s landmark exhibition Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller’s Neo-Impressionists, followed by a breakfast hosted at the recently opened Supporters’ House.
Held in the newly renovated Sainsbury Wing (reopened in 2025 following a major transformation to enhance the visitor experience) Radical Harmony brings together luminous works by Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, Anna Boch, Jan Toorop, Henri-Edmond Cross, and others.
This groundbreaking exhibition explores how Neo-Impressionist artists reimagined painting through colour and light, using pointillism - small dots of pure pigment - to build vibrant, emotionally charged scenes. Their radical visual techniques mirrored their equally progressive politics, depicting not only idyllic landscapes and interiors, but also the realities of working-class life in late 19th-century Europe.
Most of the works on view were collected by Helene Kröller-Müller, one of the first major women patrons of the 20th century. Her vision to build an accessible public collection became the foundation of the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands. This exhibition marks a rare opportunity to see these extraordinary works in London.
Following the viewing, members are invited for breakfast at Supporters’ House from 10.45am, accessed via a separate entrance on Trafalgar Square. A new addition to the National Gallery, Supporters’ House is an elegant and serene space reserved for the Gallery’s closest supporters and patrons.
