About the Work
Set in the Brazilian town of Palmelo - where Spiritist healing rituals remain central to daily life - the film follows two mediums, Divino and Lázaro, as they move between communal ceremonies and their personal spaces. Through intimate visuals - plants used in traditional remedies, torn chromolithographs of Saint Lazarus - it both evokes a ‘minor history’ and documents embodied spiritual practice as an alternative to institutional medicine.
