The gallery was founded in 1995 in a 500sq. foot space on an upper floor of a cast iron loft building in SoHo and, after ten years on a street level gallery in Chelsea, relocated to a 10,000sq. foot two-story gallery on West 27th street between 6th and 7th Avenues in February 2015. Over the last twenty-four years, the gallery and its artists have grown in parallel; hosting the first exhibitions of artists that have since become mainstays of contemporary art dialogues. Gallery artists are consistently included in international Biennales, editions of Documenta, and have solo exhibitions at important institutions worldwide. The gallery has participated annually in international art fairs including Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, Frieze New York, and Frieze London.
