Cristin Tierney Gallery is a contemporary art gallery committed to the development and support of established and emerging artists. The international exhibition program emphasizes critical theory and art history, with an attendant interest in art movements of the twentieth and twenty-first century. Significant past exhibitions include “Post-Movement: Art of the Seventies;” “Concrete Remains: Postwar and Contemporary Art from Brazil” (curated by Jacopo Crivelli-Visconti); “Dear Mr. Thanatos: Modern and Contemporary Art from Latin America” (curated by Christian Viveros-Fauné); “MK Guth: Shout, Recount, Get Drunk;” "Jorge Tacla: Hidden Identities;" “Victor Burgin: Midwest;” “Helen Lundeberg: Classic Attitude;” “Janet Biggs and Regina José Galindo: Endurance;” and “peter campus: pause."
In 2020-21 the gallery spearheaded several online-only projects, including livestream performances with Tim Youd and Janet Biggs, a digital residency with Malia Jensen, an online retrospective with John Wood and Paul Harrison, and several viewing rooms curated around the themes of quarantine and artists experimenting with paper. Upcoming exhibitions will feature Dread Scott, Maureen O'Leary, Joan Linder and Claudia Bitran.
