David Lewis is a contemporary art gallery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The gallery was founded in 2013 and currently represents sixteen artists. From its inception, the gallery has featured rigorous exhibition programming, representing outstanding emerging artists at the beginnings of their careers (Lucy Dodd, Dawn Kasper, et. al) as well as, more recently, significant historical artists (Barbara Bloom, Mary Beth Edelson, Thornton Dial, and Todd Gray). The gallery has also established a reputation for exceptional, discursively forward-thinking group exhibitions as well as a longstanding commitment to a schedule of performance, lectures, and panel discussions, which have helped to foster the reputations of the artists internationally.
