Wschód is a contemporary art gallery founded in Warsaw by a curator Piotr Drewko. The gallery represents international artists working across a wide spectrum of practices including video, sculpture, installation, performance, photography as well as painting. Apart from the exhibition program the gallery initiates a wide range of cultural activities - publication, institutional projects, podcasts in collaboration with artists, curators, critics. Additionally, Wschód co-founded a gallery exchange program Friend of a Friend. In 2022 the gallery conceived a time-shared exhibition space ECHO in Cologne. Starting from 2023, Wschód expanded to New York with a curated program of exhibitions, site-specific and video / film projects. From 2025, after three years, ECHO closed its doors in Cologne and was transformed into curatorial platform for producing exhibitions and projects in all possible formats.
