Galerie Jocelyn Wolff opened in 2003 in Belleville, an emerging area in Paris with a multi-cultural and historical background. The gallery focused on the new German and Austrian art scene presenting the first exhibitions by Clemens von Wedemeyer, Christoph Weber, Isa Melsheimer, Hans Schabus and Ulrich Polster in France. The program highlights the legacy of conceptual and minimal art introducing the work of Franz Erhard Walther, William Anastasi and Miriam Cahn. For twelve years it has been an experimental space for artists enticing them to change the exhibition settings as sculptors Guillaume Leblon and Katinka Bock did. The gallery is investing in emerging artists from the international art scene (Francisco Tropa, Elodie Seguin, Zbynek Baladrán, Diego Bianchi). With a strong interest in sculptural and pictorial practices, the gallery has always tried to promote different mediums including video installations and performances.
