Since 1995 Kalfayan Galleries have been a pioneer in the expansion of the contemporary art scene in Greece.
With a particular focus on Greece, the Balkans and the MENAM region, the gallery's roster reflects the unique character of acting as a bridge between Eastern and Western visual culture. Furthermore, the gallery has produced historically researched exhibitions on post-war Greek art and represents the Estates of some of the most important artists of the period.
Gallery artists have been featured in numerous internationally acclaimed exhibitions such as Documenta 14, Venice Biennale, Sharjah Biennale, Istanbul Biennial, Gwangju Biennale, Thessaloniki Biennale, Athens Biennale, Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art. The gallery and represented artists have collaborated with prominent museums and art institutions such as NEON, Onassis Foundation, Niarchos Foundation, Whitechapel Gallery, British Museum, TATE, New Museum, Platform Garanti/SALT, Mori Museum, Singapore Art Museum, Hamburger Bahnhof, Castello di Rivoli, Akademie der Künste, Darat al Funun.
