Emmanuel Perrotin founded his first gallery in 1989 at the age of 21 and is today one of contemporary art’s most influential gallerists with unique spaces in Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Seoul. He has four gallery spaces in Paris totaling 22,000 square feet, the most recent being la Salle de Bal, a former ballroom at the Hôtel d’Ecquevilly called “du Grand Veneur”, a 17th century Hôtel Particulier, opened in 2014. Galerie Perrotin opened in Hong Kong in 2012, New York in 2013, and Seoul in 2016.
In June 2016 Perrotin announced that the New York gallery will be relocating from its Upper East Side location to a 25,000 square foot space on the Lower East Side in the Spring of 2017. The new space will be eight times larger than the current New York space.
