The Image Researcher will provide administrative support for frieze print publications and frieze.com, including conducting picture research, uploading content to the website, writing meeting minutes, fact-checking and proofing.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Conducting image research for frieze and Frieze Masters, plus inserts, white label publications and associated projects as and when required 
  • Coordinating commissioned photography in collaboration with the Art Director
  • Compiling and proofing captions; adding captions to InDesign layouts
  • Processing image-related invoices and tracking spends
  • Uploading print content to frieze.com 
  • Assisting with the digital archiving of frieze’s back catalogue 
  • Attending regular editorial meetings; taking and circulating minutes for the design meeting
  • Assisting the Publishing and Events Manager with fact-checking and proofing for print issues as and when required
  • Proofing the On View section of the print magazine 
  • Assisting with events organization in London

Knowledge and Experience

Mandatory

  • A strong, demonstrable commitment to the arts 
  • Acute attention to detail, veracity and quality

Desirable

  • A good working knowledge of basic copyright law

Skills and Abilities

Mandatory  

  • Familiarity with Microsoft systems, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and so on.
  • A practical, common-sense approach to work
  • The ability to prioritise and communicate effectively
  • An excellent understanding of what constitutes compelling imagery

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including InDesign and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with Esker and SAP 

Working Conditions:

  • The work location is Chiswick Park, London.
  • This is a permanent contract.
  • Working hours are 9-5 pm with occasional work outside of working hours where necessary for the business.
