Senior Communications Consultant (Frieze London & Frieze Masters)

Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors and art lovers alike. Frieze comprises three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week – and seven international art fairs – Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze Seoul, The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago. Legacy art fair brands The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago were acquired by Frieze in September 2023. In October 2021, Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair, London. Frieze is part of the IMG network.

Frieze is looking for an experienced Senior Communications Consultant to deliver the communications campaign for Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2024. This work will advance the brand and mission of Frieze London and Frieze Masters (‘the fairs’) within the international arts community.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • In consultation with the relevant teams, develop annual strategic campaigns for the fairs comprising of public relations and relevant programming
  • Create and execute communications and outreach strategy for all events, public relations, and campaigns
  • Liaise with external PR firms to implement strategy
  • Compose and pitch media stories and respond to media requests
  • In consultation with the VP Communications and Fair Directors, to serve as senior media point of contact for the fairs
  • Draft and/or edit press materials as required
  • Consult on press accreditation in advance of the fairs (in consultation with press office manager)
  • In conjunction with external PR agencies, oversee international press trips for invited journalists and orchestrate press event for invited journalists (where relevant)
  • Be knowledgeable an up to date on all events and programs at the fairs and in the related art fair field including shifting trends and market developments


  • Extensive communications experience within the arts including the development and implementation of public relations strategies, press and reputation management and producing programming content
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a passion for problem solving and able to remain calm under pressure
