Focus is the place to look for what’s new,’ says independent curator and writer Ben Broome in this film that explores Frieze London’s Focus section of young galleries, supported by Stone Island.

Broome meets artists and gallerists to discuss the importance of Focus, including Londoner Adam Farah-Saad, whose installation on Public Gallery’s booth won the Focus Stand Prizegallerists Pauline Seguin of Heidi and Julia Gardener of Hot Wheels about their debut UK presentation of Jordan Strafer, and Freddie Powell of Ginny on Frederick about Jack O’Brien, winner of this year’s Camden Art Centre Emerging Artist Prize.

‘For a gallery to show work that is difficult to sell is bold,’ says Broome about Focus. But for the artists they show, ‘it makes a statement about who they are’.
