뮤지엄 SAN에서 열리는 안토니 곰리 작가의 아티스트 토크에 Frieze Connect 회원 여러분을 초대합니다.
이번 토크는 작가가 뮤지엄 SAN에서 선보이는 개인전 <Drawing on Space>(2025.6.20 - 11.30), 그리고 건축가 안도 타다오와 함께 작업한 신규 전시공간 <Ground>의 개관을 기념하는 자리입니다. 안도 타다오와 안토니 곰리의 협업으로 탄생한 <Ground>는 각자의 영역에서 인간과 자연의 상호 관계를 지속적으로 성찰해 온 두 거장의 작품세계가 하나의 비전으로 어우러지는 프로젝트입니다. 새로운 전시공간은 지하 동굴 구조로 설계되어 뮤지엄 SAN의 플라워 가든 아래에 위치하며 지하 공간과 이어지는 야외정원에는 곰리의 <Blockworks> 시리즈의 조각들이 공간 곳곳에 전시됩니다. <Drawing on Space>는 국내에서 선보이는 작가의 최대 규모 개인전으로 조각, 드로잉, 설치를 아우르며 작가의 폭넓은 작업세계를 조명합니다. 이번 강연은 뮤지엄 SAN에서의 새 프로젝트를 소개함과 동시에 현대 조각을 자신만의 언어로 재해석해 온 작가의 40여 년 예술 여정을 되짚어 보는 의미있는 자리가 될 것입니다.

Museum SAN cordially invites members of Frieze Connect to an Artist Talk with Antony Gormley.
This talk celebrates the opening of Gormley's solo exhibition Drawing on Space (6.20 - 11.30.2025), along with the unveiling of a new permanent exhibition space, Ground, created by the artist and architect Tadao Ando. The project marks the first collaboration between the celebrated architect and artist, bringing together their respective practices which profoundly examine the relationship between nature and the human condition. Embedded underneath the museum’s flower garden, Ground is designed as a subterranean cave with sculptures from Gormley’s Blockworks series exhibited throughout its interior space and outdoor garden. Drawing on Space presents Antony Gormley’s work across all media and marks the largest exhibition of the artist’s work in Korea to date. Introducing the artist’s new projects at Museum SAN in the broader context of his practice, this talk will provide a unique opportunity to retrace Antony Gormley’s artistic journey that has redefined the language of contemporary sculpture over the past forty years.
