What are the fair dates? 

The twelfth edition of Frieze New York takes place from May 1-5, 2024 at The Shed. The invitation-only preview day will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. The fair will be open to the public from May 2-5, 2024. 

What are the fair opening hours? 

Wednesday Preview, May 1 (invitation only): 11am – 7pm 
Thursday Preview, May 2: 11am – 7pm
Friday Preview, May 3: 11am – 7pm
Saturday, May 4: 11am – 7pm
Sunday, May 5: 11am – 5pm 

Last entry is 30 minutes before closing time on each day.
Please adhere to the time on your ticket or pass for ease of entry. You will only be allowed to enter on the specific date and time listed on your ticket. There is strictly no re-admission. 

What is the location of the fair?  
The fair is taking place at The Shed, located at 545 West 30th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. 
The Shed is a new cultural institution of and for the 21st century. The Shed produces and welcomes innovative art and ideas, across all forms of creativity, to build a shared understanding of our rapidly changing world and a more equitable society. Visit for information on programs and events.

By Car
Car drop-off and pick-up point is on West 30th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.  

By Bus / Subway
The closest subway station to The Shed is Hudson Yards. We have listed below the best routes to use:
- 7 train to 34 St–Hudson Yards
- A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 trains to 34 St–Penn Station  
- M11, M12, and M34 buses 

How do I get a ticket to the fair?
Early Bird Tickets to Frieze New York 2024 will go on sale in February. 

Do I need a ticket for my child?
You can bring children under 2 years old without a ticket. If your child is 2 or above, you will need to purchase a child or youth ticket for them.

  • All children aged 2 and over need a valid admission ticket to enter the fair and must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • Children under 2 are admitted free of charge 

Can I bring a buggy/stroller?
Strollers and buggies are allowed into the fair.

Where can I purchase a student ticket? 
Limited student tickets are available on Saturday from 12pm and Sunday from 11am, on a first-come, first-served basis. A valid student ID will be asked upon entry. 

Are there any discounts for groups? 
There are no discounts available for group bookings.

Can I bring a bag into the fair? Is there a coat check?
Large bags (including, but not limited to, suitcases, backpacks, folding bicycles, scooters) or any large items bigger than 11 x 15 x 5 inches will not be permitted into the fair. Space for coats and small bags in the coat check is limited, and offered on a first come, first served basis. We request that where possible visitors keep their belongings with them. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.

Can I bring my pet to the fair? 
There are strictly no pets allowed at the fairs, with the exception of assistance animals.   

Prohibited Items
Visitors must not bring any of the following items into the fair: food, drink, glass, sharp items, drones, laser pens. 
No unauthorized artwork may be brought into the fair.
No unauthorized performances can take place at the fair.
Frieze reserves the right to confiscate any such item(s) from any person entering or at the fair.

The fair is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. Wheelchairs will be available onsite. Companions/carers tickets are available free of charge. After booking your ticket, please get in touch with us at or via the chatbot on the Seetickets website to arrange a free ticket for your carer.

Are there any cash machines at the fair?
Frieze fairs are cashless events. Only card payments are accepted

Where can I stay if I am traveling?

What makes Frieze New York different from other art fairs? 
Frieze New York is distinguished from other international art fairs through innovative and rigorous programming, and focused high-quality gallery presentations that act as extensions of gallery exhibitions (either through one-, two-, or three-person presentations or themed group shows). Frieze New York offers the opportunity to encounter an exceptional quality and range of artwork, featuring the world’s most exciting emerging talents together with iconic names in contemporary art. 

What is the relationship between Frieze New York and other Frieze fairs? 
Frieze New York is a sister fair to Frieze London and Frieze Los Angeles contemporary art fairs. All Frieze fairs are separate editions and applications to each are a discreet process.

Who is the Director of the fair? 
Christine Messineo is the Director of Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze New York.

How big is the fair? 
Frieze New York will bring together over 65 NY-based and galleries from around the world and include an ambitious program of activations. The fair experience will be completed by Frieze Week events across the city.  

What are the different gallery sections of Frieze New York?
The fair will include the galleries section and the much-celebrated Focus section.

What is Focus?
The Focus section of the fair is dedicated to galleries aged 12 years and younger. The Focus section in 2024 will be curated by Lumi Tan independent curator and writer based in New York.   

How are the galleries selected for the fair?
For Frieze New York 2024, there has been an application process and galleries submitted an application form. Applications closed in October and the selection was made in November. The selection is made by a committee of gallerists who participate in the fair; the fair Director chairs the meeting but does not vote.

Who is on the committee?
The Frieze New York 2024 Selection Committee Members are: Miguel Abreu, Miguel Abreu Gallery, New York; Olivia Barrett, Château Shatto, Los Angeles; Andrew Hamilton, The Modern Institute, Glasgow; Andrew Kreps, Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York; Renato Silva, Mendes Wood DM, New York; Jacqueline Tran, Matthew Marks Gallery, New York.
