The artist takes us on a tour of her pavilion
On the opening days of the Venice Biennale, Laure Prouvost – who is representing France – led frieze into the subterranean entrance of ‘Deep See Blue Surrounding You’. Her exhibition is the culmination of a hallucinatory road trip that was guided by – in no particular order – the beating heart of a squid, the mysteries of everyday life, a sense of a community and our collective need to escape. (Oh, and there’s also a smoking pigeon.) We shall let her explain.
