KCRW & frieze magazine presented a night of art, story and conversation. Culture critic, filmmaker and host of KCRW’s The Treatment, Elvis Mitchell was joined by artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Garrett Bradley to discuss Bradley’s work of the past, present and future.

Garrett Bradley is an artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker who works across narrative, documentary, and experimental modes of filmmaking. In 2020, Bradley presented her debut documentary feature length film ‘Time’, which was nominated for over 57 awards and won 20 times including being the first black woman to win the best U.S. Documentary Directing award at the Sundance Film Festival. Elvis Mitchell has been the host of KCRW’s The Treatment since its creation in 1996. During that time, he has served as a film critic for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The New York Times, and he has been a special correspondent for interview magazines. He hosted the TV series Elvis Goes There on Epix, and Elvis Goes There for Turner Classic Movies (both 2019). He won the NAACP Image Award for creating and producing documentary series The Black List (2008) for HBO.
