Mazzoleni was founded in Turin in 1986 by Giovanni and Anna Pia Mazzoleni, as the natural evolution of their private collection initiated in the early 1950s.
The Turin gallery, which spans two floors of the historic Palazzo Panizza on Piazza Solferino, was joined in 2014 by the London space in Mayfair, at the heart of the international art scene.
In 2025, Mazzoleni inaugurated a new venue in Milan, further strengthening its presence in one of the key hubs of contemporary culture.
For over 35 years, the gallery has showcased Italian and international artists of the 20th century, with a particular focus on Post-War Italian art, working in close collaboration with leading artists’ archives and foundations. Its exhibition programme, distinguished by international curatorial projects and significant critical publications, has established the gallery as a reference point in the art world. Under the direction of Davide and Luigi Mazzoleni, the gallery has expanded its activities to include collaborations with prominent contemporary artists, giving voice to today’s artistic languages.
Mazzoleni regularly takes part in major international art fairs, including Art Basel (Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong), as well as Artissima, Artefiera, and Miart in Italy. In the past four years, the gallery has also extended its activities towards new collecting scenes in the East, participating in Frieze Seoul and Art Abu Dhabi.
Works from the Mazzoleni collection have been exhibited in leading museums and institutions worldwide, including Centre Pompidou and Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, New York; Smithsonian Institution, Washington; State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg; Tate and the Estorick Collection, London; Museo del Novecento, Florence; GNAM, Rome; MADRE Museum, Naples; Triennale Milano and Palazzo Reale, Milan; and the Venice Biennale.
Mazzoleni represents the Estate of Agostino Bonalumi.
