Uffner & Liu is a contemporary art gallery based in New York City’s Lower East Side. Founded in 2008 by Rachel Uffner, the gallery has long been committed to supporting a multigenerational roster of artists working in diverse media. Over the years, it has built a reputation as a vital space for emerging voices, with a strong emphasis on female-identifying artists and sustained institutional engagement.
The gallery’s first home was a modest storefront on Orchard Street. In 2014, it relocated to a larger space on Suffolk Street, which was further expanded in 2019. Now occupying a 5,000 square-foot, two-floor building with three distinct exhibition spaces, the gallery offers artists a dynamic and generous environment to experiment with scale, material, and form.
In 2025, Gallery Director Lucy Liu joined as Partner, marking the gallery’s evolution into Uffner & Liu. This new chapter builds upon its foundational mission while opening new pathways for international collaboration and artistic growth.
