Head of Data & Insight

The Head of Data and Insight provides strategic leadership for our CRM and audience data operations, ecosystem and team with overall responsibility for data management, insight and strategy at Frieze.

Frieze is a global brand in art and culture that comprises three publications, frieze magazine, Frieze Masters magazine and Frieze Week; four international art fairs, Frieze London, Frieze LA, Frieze New York and Frieze Masters, and a growing digital proposition including frieze.com, the definitive resource for contemporary art and culture, the market-leading Frieze Viewing Room digital art events platform and a brand new membership programme.

The Head of Data and Insight provides strategic leadership for our CRM and audience data operations, ecosystem and team with overall responsibility for data management, insight and strategy at Frieze. This role is mission-critical in the delivery of Frieze’s key priorities, managing the processes, platforms and systems that support the delivery of the fairs, membership programme, gallery services, all online products and real-life events and to inform critical business decisions and strategic focus with appropriate insights.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership for the role and value of data at Frieze: CRM eco-system, reporting and processing, business process transformation
  • Setting strategic priorities and functional objectives for data, working closely with internal stakeholders and aligning to business objectives
  • Product ownership for data platforms on data management & user journeys through data touchpoints
  • Management of processes supporting business and stakeholders with data flow from CRM and other platforms
  • Reporting and analysis for stakeholders and as required for management and business optimisation
  • Supporting Marketing team with modelling for event capacity optimisation
  • Lead a team made up of a Digital Data Analyst, Exhibitors Data & Insight Manager and VIP Data & Insight Manager with oversight of their functions & delivery
  • Ensuring GDPR-compliant and best practice data management is in place and observed across the business

Experience, Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Several years’ experience of managing and supporting CRM & data-driven marketing processes as a senior analyst
  • Proven technical understanding of data systems to influence and inform development and architecture of data ecosystem and platforms
  • Proven ability in using reporting and analysis to influence senior colleagues and improve strategic business performance
  • Experience of advanced data analytics, query scripting and insight techniques e.g. predictive analytics, segmentation, forecasting modelling, big data applications etc.
  • Experience of working with Campaign Management and CRM Tools to manage audience and product development strategies
  • Experienced people manager and relationship builder, able to lead, develop and support a high performing team, influence colleagues and create a learning culture
  • A good understanding of data protection legislation and its applications in CRM
