Join guest curator Victor Wang 王宗孚 for a special tour of exhibition Institute of Asian Performance Art, and celebrate the launch of a concurrent publication looking at early performance movements in Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan.
Presentations by three historic artists explore the materiality of historic performance art. The show includes sculptures and works on paper by Jiro Takamatsu 高松 次郎; a series of photographs from the famous Yamanote Line Festival by photographer Tokuji Murai 村井督侍; twenty-four photographs by the renowned photographer Hirata Minoru 平田実 which capture important avant garde events and performances around cities public spaces; and documentation and materials around an important 1970s performance restaged by Kim Ku Lim 김구림 for the project.
