In 1991, a group of eight scientists went to live in the hermetically sealed dome of Biosphere Two, a miniature replica of the earth’s ecosystem built deep in the Arizona desert, to test the tenability of life in outer space. Director of a new documentary on the experiment, Matt Wolf discussed what lessons it holds about the future of life on earth in conversation with editor Andrew Durbin.
