What are the dates of the fair?
The twelfth edition of Frieze New York takes place from May 1-5, 2024 at The Shed. The invitation-only preview day will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. The fair will be open to the public from May 2-5, 2024.
What are the VIP fair opening hours?
Please check your pass for your entry time.
Wednesday Preview, May 1 | VIP Preview: 11am – 7pm
Thursday Preview, May 2 | Preview: 11am – 7pm (VIP Hours 11am - 1pm)
Friday Preview, May 3: 11am – 7pm
Saturday May 4: 11am – 6pm
Sunday May 5: 11am - 5pm
What is the location of the fair?
The fair will take place at The Shed, located at 545 West 30th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.
How do I get to the fair?
By Car
Car drop off and pick-up point is on West 30th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.
By Bus/Subway
The closest subway station to The Shed is Hudson Yards. We have listed below the best routes to use:
- 7 Train to 34 St-Hudson Yards
- A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 trains to 34 St-Penn Station
- M11, M12, and M34 buses

How do I RSVP for the Fair?
Please follow the link on your VIP invitation (under Your Fair Invitations section) in your dashboard/MY ACCOUNT to RSVP for your pass.
How do I download my digital invitation / digital VIP invitation?
Digital invitations will be available to access from your Frieze account dashboard. You can also access your invitation any time via the Frieze App, which can be downloaded here. Once it’s installed, simply log in with your credentials and click on the INVITATION section at the bottom of the screen to view your VIP invitation.
Please know that your VIP invitation is not transferrable.
How do I change or cancel my reservation time?
Once you have reserved your time to attend the fair, log into your Frieze account and select ‘Add guest / Change time’ under 'Your Fair Invitations' to go to the reservation portal. Select ‘Change booking time’ and select 'Change' to select a new booking time. To cancel your reservation, select ‘Cancel’. All reservations are subject to availability.
The day or time I wish to attend is not available, is there a waitlist?
All entry times are subject to availability, and we do not have a waitlist. We recommend checking regularly to see if your preferred time becomes available.
How do I request a return booking for another day?
Your VIP invitation will be valid for return visits throughout the duration of the fair. These do not need to be pre-booked.
How do I share my Guest Invitation?
Your VIP Invitation admits you and a guest to Frieze New York 2024. You will be able to share your guest pass once booking slots open.
Where can I find the VIP Program?
The VIP Program can be found in your Frieze account dashboard, under 'Your Fair Invitations' once you log in.
The VIP program will be released in February.

Can I bring a bag into the fair? Is there a coat check?
Large bags (including, but not limited to, suitcases, backpacks, folding bicycles, scooters) or any large items bigger than 11 x 15 x 5 inches will not be permitted into the fair. Space for coats and small bags in the coat check is limited, and offered on a first come, first served basis. We request that where possible visitors keep their belongings with them. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you bring minimal personal belongings to the venue.
Accessibility
The fair is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. For companions/carers tickets, please visit us on site to speak to one of our assistants.
Can I bring children?
If you are visiting the fair with children, please visit the VIP Desk upon your arrival. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Can I bring my pet to the fair?
There are strictly no pets allowed at the fairs, with the exception of assistance animals.
Who is the Director of the fair?
Christine Messineo is the Director of Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze New York.
How big is the fair?
Frieze New York will bring together over 65 NY-based and galleries from around the world and include an ambitious program of activations. The fair experience will be completed by Frieze Week events across the city, starting April 29, 2024.
What is the focus of the fair?
Frieze New York largely focuses on contemporary art and celebrates the exceptionally dynamic culture of New York and its global contributions to the visual arts. The full program will be announced soon. You can find a list of participating galleries here.
What are the different gallery sections of Frieze New York?
The fair will include the galleries section and the much-celebrated Focus section.
What is Focus?
The Focus section of the fair is dedicated to galleries aged 12 years and younger. The Focus section in 2024 will be curated by Lumi Tan, independent curator and writer based in New York.
What additional programming will take place at the Frieze New York?

How are the galleries selected for the fair?
For Frieze New York 2024, there has been an application process and galleries submitted an application form. Applications closed in October and the selection was made in November. The selection is made by a committee of gallerists who participate in the fair; the fair Director chairs the meeting but does not vote.
