John C. Welchman is professor of art history, theory and criticism at the University of California, San Diego and Chair of the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts. The first of six volumes of his collected writings onart, XX to XXI: Essays on Contemporary European Art, will be published by Sternberg Press in Spring 2014.
