Founded in 1976, L.A. Louver opened its doors in the burgeoning arts neighborhood of Venice, California, with the objective of positioning artists from both Southern California and abroad, within an international context. Now in its 42nd year, this founding principle is the fulcrum from which the gallery continues to operate – exemplified in this particular moment with concurrent presentations by three artists: David Hockney, Alison Saar and Gajin Fujita.
For Frieze Los Angeles, L.A. Louver is featuring a solo presentation of new paintings and drawings by Los Angeles artist Gajin Fujita. (14-17 February 2019)
At L.A. Louver (Venice, CA), an exhibition of all new works by David Hockney is on view throughout the first and second floor galleries, and includes large-scale photographic drawings, multi-canvas paintings and more. For the gallery’s open-air Skryoom, Los Angeles-based artist Alison Saar has created a new bronze sculpture titled “Grow’d.” (7 February - 23 March 2019)
