Tom Emerson founded 6a architects with Stephanie McDonald in 2001. The practice is best known for designing buildings for education and the arts, including: Raven Row, London, UK (2009), which won a RIBA award in 2011; the expanded South London Gallery (2010) and Fire Station extension (2018); Sadie Coles HQ, London (2015), and MK Gallery, Milton Keynes, UK (2019). Since 2010 he has been Professor of Architecture and Construction at the ETH Zurich Faculty of Architecture, Switzerland.
