About the Work
Coyolxauhqui is a searing exposé of femicide in rural Mexico that retells the story of the dismemberment of the moon goddess Coyolxauhqui by her brother Huitzilopochtli. A visual poem about the nature of myth and ritual, Coyolxauhqui explores the connection between the present epidemic of femicides in Mexico and wider cultural formations.
