This summer, Frieze Connect members can receive complimentary admission to Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting at the National Portrait Gallery, on view through the end of August. This landmark presentation marks the largest UK museum exhibition to date dedicated to Jenny Saville, one of the world’s most acclaimed contemporary painters.
Tracing more than three decades of Saville’s career, the exhibition features 45 works spanning charcoal drawings, expressive large-scale nudes, and new paintings on public view for the first time. Renowned for her visceral depictions of the human form, Saville pushes the boundaries of figurative painting with textured, monumental canvases that challenge historical ideals of beauty and femininity.
Organized in close collaboration with the artist, The Anatomy of Painting highlights Saville’s engagement with the tradition of portraiture while affirming her enduring influence on the evolution of contemporary painting.
