Jess Wilcox (Director of Exhibitions, Socrates Sculpture Park) leads a walkthrough of 303 Gallery's current exhibition, Alicja Kwade: ParaParticular. Working with concepts of nature, science, philosophy and perception, Kwade has become renowned for her ability to succinctly question and sublimate natural phenomena, challenging our most basic logical assumptions. Her work uses nature as a tool to investigate senses and awareness, opening fissures in which we may rethink the world around us as well as our place in it. Elsewhere in New York, Kwade's work can be seen at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the 2019 Roof Garden Commision, Alicja Kwade: ParaPivot continues through October 27th. Her sculpture REVOLUTION (Gravitas), 2017, is included in the group exhibition Chronos Cosmos: Deep Time, Open Space, curated by Jess Wilcox, at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, on view from Sunday, May 5th.
