Tania Pérez Córdova

Vista a una ventana que pronto para ser derribada / View to a window soon to be teared down, 2022

Bronze poured into sand

143 cm x 103.5 cm x 2 cm

$10-20k

The window alone is enough to catch my interest. I’m even more fascinated by how this window is supposedly about to be torn down. It can’t get any better.

Tauba Auerbach

Marble, 2019

Acrylic paint on paper

58.4 cm x 44.8 cm

$20-50k

Presented by Paula Cooper Gallery

This piece evokes the work of Ruth Asawa in my mind. I can’t unsee a wire sculpture here, full of movement, like it dove into Tauba’s paper to go swimming and the water was so warm it never wanted to come out.

Bob Thompson

Harvest Rest, 1964

Oil and graphite on canvas

45.7 cm x 61 cm

$500k-1m

Presented by Michael Rosenfeld Gallery

I love how ripe and delicious Bob’s paintings are. They are a great life of their own. Worlds and worlds of vibrancy and depth that keep unfolding, like a harvest and the people it feeds.

Mika Tajima

Art d'Ameublement (Falaise d'Entrecasteaux), 2023

Spray acrylic, thermoformed PETG

111.8 cm x 83.8 cm x 5.1 cm

Presented by Pace

This piece is beyond human. It defies time and space. It is its own world. Delicate and kind. I would like to be there.

Salvo

Capriccio, 1999

Oil on canvas

128 cm x 76 cm

I like this painting because it seems not to take itself too seriously. It’s absurd, yet matter-of-fact, it’s modern and it’s ancient, it makes me feel small, it makes me want to take risks, it’s pretty, it’s ugly. It takes your mood and lays it out in front of you. A “mirror of the soul”, as Gibran says.
