Frieze 91 New York: Tour of Hugh Hayden's 'Brier Patch' at Madison Square Park Conservancy

April 2022
New York City, United States

Frieze 91 New York are delighted to invite you to Madison Square Park for a private tour of Hugh Hayden’s Brier Patch on Sunday, April 24 from 11am-12pm, led by Brooke Kamin Rapaport, Deputy Director & Martin Friedman, Chief Curator, Madison Square Park Conservancy.

Brier Patch, Hayden’s most ambitious project to date, features one hundred elementary school desks with tree branches erupting from the tabletops. Visually stunning and loaded with inherent tensions, Brier Patch prompts viewer reflection on educational inequity and the fragility of the American Dream.

Light breakfast refreshments to-go will be provided at the conclusion of the tour.

Please note this event is held outside and will happen rain or shine.
