Follow Yuli Yoon through the narrow, winding alleys of Samcheong-dong, one of the most historic areas of Seoul.
We visit pioneering museum Art Sonje and the collaborative artist space Factory2, where Yuli has found inspiration as a young curator; and Barakat and Arario galleries which champion Middle Eastern and Asian artists.
Yuli also tells us about the area’s supposedly ‘yin’ energy, shamanic rituals that opened the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and how the fact that ‘Koreans never really stay silent’ affects the art that they make.
Take part in ‘Samcheong Night’ on 4 September 2024, for special events and late openings across the area – including Do Ho Suh ‘Speculations’ at @Art Sonje and IMA Picks 2024 at Ilmin Museum of Art.
