‘Echoes in the Present’ at Frieze London 2025

The new curated section explores the connections between contemporary artists from Brazil and Africa

in Frieze London | 17 JUN 25

New for Frieze London 2025, Echoes in the Present explores dialogue between artists from Brazil and Africa, and their diasporas. These ties are shaped by shared histories marked by the forced movement of African people across the Atlantic, and by subsequent cultural exchange. Curated by Jareh Das, an independent curator working between the UK and West Africa, Echoes in the Present looks at the intricate relationships between land, material and memory across a range of contemporary practices.
